The 2009 APC Invitational Golf Classic
On June 3, 2009 APC hosted our Annual APC invitational Golf Classic at the Forest City National Golf Club in London, Ontario. We had a record turnout this year with 164 golfers comprised of customers, suppliers and staff. This year we added a charity component to the tournament in support of the three London area hospitals. A total of $8,000 was raised by the tournament for the London Heath Sciences Foundation. The money will be used in the Department of Clinical Neurosciences for stroke research. The cheque was presented at Canusa’s head office in Dorchester, Ontario on July 8th, 2009. This event has become a very popular tournament. Canusa/APC will continue with the annual “Classic” and supporting the LHSF in hopes of raising similar amounts of money each year.
Thank you to all who participated (golfers, sponsors, donors, and staff) in helping this event run smoothly and successfully. We look forward to your support next year.
Ontario Tire Stewardship
The Ontario Minister of the Environment is mandating the Ontario Tire Stewardship (OTS) to launch their Used Tire Program on September 1, 2009. All persons defined as an Ontario Tire Brand Owner or First Importers of Tires to Ontario must legally register with OTS and comply with the Program Rules. This includes reporting type and quantity of tire sales to OTS and country of origin. If you are or could be a OTS Steward please visit www.ontarioTS.ca to register and/or download a full copy the rules and regulations.
Line Consolidation
We have recently consolidated the Blue Streak lines into one line code in our computer system. As of immediately, part numbers from line code BLC and BWC have been superseded to line BSI. If there are any questions regarding this change please direct them to the I.T. Department.
Flash Programming
Flash reprogramming is an important part of repairs and tune-ups on most 1996 and newer cars. Many times, reprogramming is the only way to repair a vehicle and eliminate false “Check Engine Soon” lights or MIL indicators. Vehicle manufacturers are constantly updating the firmware used in their automotive computers. At CANUSA, we have the latest reprogramming equipment and manufacturer reflash data. Our software and firmware is updated online before we program every Flash computer ensuring the most up-to-date content possible. This allows us to update the following vehicles:

I.T. News
The IT Department has implemented the following improvement to Customer Connect. We have improved the order inquiry for ease of use, when looking up orders it will show the newest order or invoice in descending order by date.
Calipers
Please be advised CANUSA/APC has switched to the Cardone bracketed caliper program. All inventory has been changed at both warehouses and all APC Corporate and Associate stores. All applications that require a bracket will be superseded to the bracketed part number.
