APC Auto Parts Centres & ACDelco Fall/Winter 2026 Training Program Returns

APC Auto Parts Centres, in partnership with ACDelco, is excited to welcome technicians back for our Fall/Winter 2026 Instructor-Led Training Program. This season kicks off with our first course, Computer-Controlled Charging System Diagnosis, designed to help technicians build confidence in diagnosing and servicing today’s advanced charging systems.

 

Computer-Controlled Charging System Diagnosis

Modern charging systems are more sophisticated than ever, integrating vehicle computers, sensors, and communication networks to optimize performance. This instructor-led course provides a comprehensive understanding of both internally and externally regulated computer-controlled charging systems and the diagnostic procedures required to service them effectively.

 

What You’ll Learn

Participants will gain hands-on knowledge of:

  • How computer-controlled charging systems operate
  • The differences between internally and externally regulated charging systems
  • How charging systems monitor battery temperature and electrical load
  • The role of vehicle data networks in managing charging system output
  • Diagnosing electrical and mechanical charging system faults
  • Identifying drive belt wear and faulty generator pulleys
  • Proper charging system voltage drop testing procedures
  • Diagnosing charging system concerns on General Motors and Stellantis vehicles

 

Learning Outcomes

  • Upon successful completion of this course, technicians will be able to:
  • Identify computer-controlled charging systems
  • Recognize the circuits within internally and externally regulated generators
  • Diagnose faulty drive belts
  • Diagnose faulty generator pulleys
  • Perform charging system voltage drop tests
  • Diagnose concerns specific to General Motors and Stellantis computer-controlled charging systems
